Recommendations of the Conference on the Values of Citizenship and Coexistence in Islam

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the best of creation and the beloved of truth, our master Muhammad, his family, and his companions.

The conference participants deliberated over three days, which included six scientific sessions, during which eight presentations were made by keynote speakers, and twenty-one contributions from participating researchers with peer-reviewed papers - the conference discussed the issue of citizenship and coexistence in Islam through seven axes, and the discussions, comments, and interventions revolved around it.
Based on the vision, message, and objectives of the conference, and the recommendations presented by the participants in their research and proposals, the conference recommends the following:
First: Emphasizing Islam's acknowledgment of the principle of citizenship, and that societies have no alternative to peaceful coexistence and building on human commonalities, and rejecting division, conflict, and any form of fanaticism.
Second: Emphasizing Islam's respect for human rights and its precedence and distinction in recognizing them.
Third: Emphasizing that Muslims and non-Muslims are partners in their homelands, united by common interests, and equal in rights and duties.
Fourth: Emphasizing that there is no objection to the multiplicity of identities and affiliations, and that loyalty to Islam does not contradict belonging to the homeland, integrating into it, and working for its elevation and progress.
Fifth: Benefiting from historical Islamic experiences in enhancing the concept of citizenship, protecting everyone's rights, and establishing the values of coexistence.
Sixth: The necessity of utilizing all means of discourse to reinforce the values of citizenship and promote coexistence through religious and educational institutions, educational roles, and all forms of media and social communication, and benefiting from modern technologies.
Seventh: Developing school and educational policies to integrate the values of citizenship into all curricula and activities.
Eighth: Paying attention to the psychological aspects in educational institutions, especially the value of psychological acceptance of others.
Ninth: Warning against manifestations of social and religious fanaticism through conscious strategies starting from the family, extending to educational institutions, civil society organizations, and media channels.
Tenth: Encouraging applied scientific research on topics of diversity management, community integration, and active citizenship, and linking them to contemporary issues.
Eleventh: The necessity of elevating the values of justice, equality, freedom, solidarity, and responsibility, and establishing them as a lived reality in societies.
Twelfth: Launching community initiatives involving the family, school, mosque, university, and media to establish a culture of citizenship and peaceful coexistence.
Thirteenth: Conducting further studies that highlight the attention of the Holy Quran and the honorable prophetic Sunnah to the values of citizenship and coexistence.
Fourteenth: Supporting Muslim minorities in facing the challenges of Islamic identity.
Fifteenth: Building bridges of cooperation between associations and unions of Muslim minorities and official religious institutions in the Islamic world.
Sixteenth: Fostering a sense of pride in the components of Islamic identity, including religion, language, Islamic history, culture, and civilization among Muslim minorities.
Seventeenth: The necessity of rehabilitating mosque imams and preachers in the fields of thought, dialogue, and social communication.
Eighteenth: Strengthening partnerships between religious institutions and educational institutions in serving national values.
Nineteenth: Consciously benefiting from successful international experiences in managing community diversity, while considering cultural and religious particularities.
Twentieth: Encouraging comparative studies between Islamic principles and modern human rights standards to develop just and tolerant community policies.
Twenty-first: The necessity of combating racial and sectarian discrimination and societal division through enacting clear laws and policies that prevent discrimination in all its forms.
Twenty-second: Supporting the purposive jurisprudential ijtihad in issues of the national state, social contract, and rights of non-Muslims, in a way that achieves societal peace and preserves legal constants.
Twenty-third: Establishing national media monitoring systems involving academic, religious, and civil society bodies to evaluate the quality of cultural and religious representation in dramatic works.
Twenty-fourth: Encouraging the production of multilingual digital content aimed at youth, utilizing modern media to promote the culture of coexistence and citizenship in contemporary scientific language.
Twenty-fifth: Supporting the rights of the Palestinian people to live in peace and security on their land according to international charters issued in this regard.
Twenty-sixth: Supporting international efforts aimed at preserving the Omar Covenant and the heritage of Muslims and protecting it from the practices of the usurping Zionist entity.
Twenty-seventh: Paying attention to the controls of jurisprudential disagreement and spreading the culture of integration between jurisprudential schools and opinions, even if they are not from the recognized schools.
Twenty-eighth: Re-studying the science of theology with a focus on objectives and goals, without stirring up disputes.
Twenty-ninth: Directing Arab television drama producers to support the values of citizenship and coexistence in dramatic works.
Thirtieth: Expanding the scope of semiotic studies to analyze dramatic discourse and its relationship to collective consciousness.
 
In conclusion, we praise Allah, the Almighty, by whose grace good deeds are completed; all praise is due to Him in the first and the last, and we ask Him for continued success and guidance. Thank you all, and peace be upon you and Allah's mercy and blessings.
