(Artificial Intelligence) An evening that brings together science and a bright future

The ACADEMION Cultural Platform launches The non-profit platform that focuses on disseminating knowledge and sciences through ambassadors, members, and advisors of the institute, and through a variety of reading, audio, and visual materials Weekly evenings every Tuesday evening to highlight topics of interest to contemporary society in all fields, andThe evenings feature a distinguished elite of intellectuals and pioneers of science in various fields, and this Tuesday's evening 22/3/1443 AH corresponding to 28/10/2021 AD titled (Artificial Intelligence) presented by Dr. Fatima Abdulrahman Othman Baithman, PhD in Modern Artificial Intelligence, and an academic, researcher, administrator, and consultant in the business sector, and the evening began at nine o'clock in the evening on Zoom, and the evening was presented by Dr. Mishal bin Yasin Al-Mahlawi.

Dr. Baithman began the evening with an overview of artificial intelligence as it began in the sixties during a conference held in the United States, specifically in California, and the idea of artificial intelligence came from two well-known scientists in this field, and artificial intelligence remained for a long time within the environment of computers and systems, and began to take shape in various ways as its knowledge and applications evolved, and there has been a rise and fall in this science, as in the eighties this science began in different stages, and in the nineties it started to decline and did not meet the expectations that it was supposed to produce, then the school of artificial intelligence developed and emerged from within the computer to different environments, and the modern school of artificial intelligence emerged in the 2000s.

Dr. Baithman mentioned that the change that occurred in artificial intelligence is the importance of the emergence of the modern school of artificial intelligence and the changes that occurred in it, as it came in some different models such as mixed reality, augmented reality, virtual reality, and physical reality, as well as interaction and movement of robotic entities until traditional entities and robots became smart robots, and then came digital entities, and semi-human entities, or human entities that are infused with types of artificial intelligence including "digital assistants."

Dr. Baithman clarified that there is a strong and close relationship between intelligence and artificial intelligence, as one can refer to definitions of artificial intelligence in the language that indicate that it is: acquired, creative, or embedded abilities that may relate to genes or may be acquired from different environments, and among the most important features of intelligence are: growth, development, adaptation, and self-justification with the environment, and based on this, artificial intelligence and non-natural intelligence came to resemble these capabilities in technological systems and different entities, and artificial intelligence has become classified as a science in its own right that combines interdisciplinary, interrelated, and complex sciences, integrating with all cognitive sciences.

Dr. Baithman pointed out that artificial intelligence has begun to enter the world of companies in all fields, to the extent that there are those who are keen to ensure these gains that can result from artificial intelligence in growth processes, and in advancement processes, as artificial intelligence is concerned with a specific and defined aspect of solving very complex problems, and usually intelligent systems are based on scientific concepts and fundamentals, so not every system can be classified as an intelligent system whether it is kinetic or mechanical, and there are many who confuse the definition of intelligence with the dynamics of systems, or the interactivity of systems, and therefore it may seem impossible to some due to the lack of complete knowledge of these fundamentals.

Dr. Baithman shed light on two main approaches to artificial intelligence: the analytical approach and the applied approach, and the applied approach is the one that is implemented in physical, chemical, and biological laboratories, while the synthetic approach is what is applied in some engineering sciences, the simplest of which is the game of Lego, or building smart robots, and methods of reasoning and logic are usually used to achieve goals, and the global return of artificial intelligence is estimated to exceed 15 trillion, and in the Middle East at 320 billion, and by the end of 2030 this number may exceed significantly, as Saudi Arabia has strongly directed towards the economy and the uses of artificial intelligence, and therefore countries around the world have rushed to develop national strategies for artificial intelligence.

Dr. Baithman presented a presentation that includes various axes for the roadmap of the Artificial Intelligence Association, which includes the vision of the association that believes in the ability of artificial intelligence to solve the problems of youth and facilitate their lives and improve and sustain products, and provide opportunities for youth to elevate them to a global level and their capabilities to develop artificial intelligence, and the message of the association focused on raising the efficiency of society through international indicators of artificial intelligence in line with Vision 2030 as a national priority in development, innovation, knowledge, and entrepreneurship, as  Dr. Baithman presented the goals and activities of the association, and touched on clarifying the general structure of the Artificial Intelligence Association and some of its prominent members, and presented the competitiveness index where the Kingdom advanced in three main axes: technology, knowledge, and future readiness, and highlighted the contribution of youth to global artificial intelligence indicators, as well as clarified the alignment of the association's activities with the indicators of Vision 2030 and global artificial intelligence for sustainable development for youth, and pointed to some programs and initiatives of the association, and the results of building the fifth community.

At the end of the evening, Dr. Baithman added that artificial intelligence has surpassed human intelligence in many tasks such as data analysis, as humans cannot analyze data in the same way that artificial intelligence can and at the same speed, and there will be a very strong shift in the next ten years for artificial intelligence, and the process of regulating the capabilities of artificial intelligence and directing it correctly for the benefit of humanity and the nation has begun, and that youth should engage in artificial intelligence schools and understand its technologies, as most future jobs focus on understanding and directing artificial intelligence and how to manage it to serve humanity.
